Quality comes first when it comes to Nalgene. Sturdy construction, easy to clean, versatile, incredible customer service. Are there a few things you need to know before buying - make sure its a good fit...Here are the PROs:BPA free - I prefer not to drink out of plastic if I can help it, so having a BPA-free bottle is important to me. I'm not gonna get into it whether its actually bad for you or not - but I don't think you are paying much of a premium for it, better safe than sorry.Sturdy - I've dropped these things many times. No cracking or splitting open. And if it did? I would be willing to bet Nalgene would replace.Dishwasher quick clean - throw in dishwasher. Done. Clean. Easy.Fits in cupholder. I suppose it won't fit in the old 12oz can cupholders of the 80's - but standard size cupholders it fits fine.No funny plastic taste - back before I lost my sense of smell due to Covid, this was a big deal. I could drink water with no funny smell or taste from residue or temperature changes.US made - these bottles are manufactured in Rochester, NY - I fully admit I don't always buy US - but if I can, I will and feel very good about supporting manufacturing stateside.MOST IMPORTANT - Customer Service is incredible. If ANYTHING happens to you bottle, you will most likely get it replaced by Nalgene. It may not be fast, but I have had a couple issues and they have responded with over the top service. The last time I had an issue, it was just the "Nalgene" logo wore off shortly after getting the bottle. It wasn't a big deal - and I emailed them to let them know. The bottle still worked perfectly fine. They send me a BRAND NEW BOTTLE. This has been my experience with them over and over again. The minor issues are not a big deal because customer service will take care of ANY problems. So what are these minor issues? It will wear down eventually. I use my bottle every day, fill it up at home and work multiple times. So that's a lot of removing the lid and putting it back on, over and over again. So the plastic strap that holds the lid on should last you at least a couple years. I have 3 with a strap that's lasted 4 years. Most companies would probably tell you that you're SOL if it breaks. Nalgene will very likely replace either the lid or the whole bottle. It isn't completely water tight. This bottle has a straw function (I never use it) so in order for that to work it has to have a relief valve on the lid. If you lay it down on its side, it will probably leak. So if you want a leak proof bottle, look elsewhere. It doesn't drain like crazy if it tips over, but it will drip slightly over time.As I said - customer service will probably take care of any issues.I didn't even mention that I have Nalgene bottles for my 7 year old twins that they have used for about 5 years daily. Usual wear and tear, but incredibly reliable water bottles.
