This is a solidly build, very sturdy and easy to assemble rack. It comfortably holds wine bottles of all shapes and even holds champagne bottles, water bottles and to-go bottles too. It's clear plastic so I personally would not place this out on my counter or in any visible location. Even the nicest plastic is still plastic and just not very attractive. In a cabinet, in the fridge, in a closet however . . . this is great. The plastic material is sturdy, thick and has a bit of a flex to it - - - not in a flimsy way, but in a way that isn't brittle and won't snap.I love that it has a small footprint and though it does hold bottles as large as champagne, there isn't a lot of empty space between layers. It's about as compact as can be while still remaining stable and versatile. It would be great if it came with (or had available to purchase as an add-on) a flat top piece that would create a shelf above the top row of bottles.I bought two sets of these, split them both and assembled them all side by side. This configuration allows 12 bottles across stacked 2 high. That leaves me several inches above the top row that would be useful for other items and it would be great if there was an optional add-on available for an additional 2 side rails and a flat top shelf.Because I split the 4 high configuration, I have extra sets of riser pieces. As an alternate to a top shelf for storage, I placed the 2 extra risers at the bottom of one of the pairs of racks and this gives me several inches clearance of shelf space under the rack for flat/small items. I slid a shallow tray under here to hold corkscrews, bottle stoppers, bottle openers, etc. This doesn't give me as much storage as a top shelf would, but it's a good use of the extra risers that I have.I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for sturdy storage in an out-of-sight spot.
